"It boasts the second-greatest ascent of any road climb in the UK"
[edit]So what beats it? It would be interesting to have that info in the article. 81.153.107.73 (talk) 23:54, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
Nothing as far as I know. Bealach Na Ba rises from near sea-level to over 600m. No other road above 600m rises from anything close to sea level. Perhaps they wer thinking of the road up to Great Dun Fell but that's a bridleway not a public road. 80.189.57.127 (talk) 23:22, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Now changed to just "greatest ascent". Unless anyone can point to a bigger climb, that is actually a road? --Vclaw (talk) 23:39, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
I'll change "steepest ascent" to "greatest ascent" - it is steep, but by no means the steepest in the country. Also will remove the reference, which is to a BBC report about snow clearance, and not relevant to the facts stated. So now a citation is needed - if anyone has a suitable one, please add, otherwise I'll have a look around for one.Newburyjohn (talk) 15:02, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
